Modern Slavery Statement

Delifrance UK strives to be a good corporate citizen. Through its managers and through its people, we are committed to promoting protection of the environment; supporting charities and local communities; promoting equal opportunities; ensuring safe and efficient working practices; and working with suppliers and customers who uphold similar values.

To achieve our goal we will continue to take steps to confirm that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking taking place within any element of our business. Throughout 2018/2019 we will undertake the following activities:

People
Continued compliance with our strict employment policies in place covering recruitment / bribery & corruption / health & safety / harassment and bullying

All personnel employed directly are paid at an appropriate rate in line with the national living wage; with overtime payments in line with the ETI base code.

Working hours continue to be monitored to ensure they are not excessive and personnel given rest days in accordance with the ETI base code. Incidents of excessive working are reviewed when identified.

Temporary employees will continue to be sourced from a GLA approved agency and regular audits of the agency will continue to be undertaken to ensure that these employees are being paid at rates in line with the national living wage and have no unfair or unnecessary deductions.

We continue to be members of SEDEX and undertake regular third party audits of ourselves, at appropriate frequencies, to ensure that we are complying with best ethical practices.

Training
All new personnel are briefed about modern slavery and human trafficking during their induction to the business and there are various routes for confidential whistleblowing.

All internal managers and supervisors were trained in the signs of modern slavery / human trafficking during 2017 and we will continue to develop our internal training plan in 2018/2019 to raise awareness of modern slavery to all employees, enabling everyone to identify potential signs and react accordingly. 

Suppliers
We are continuing to engage with all suppliers – ingredients / packaging / services - to ensure that our complete supply chain is actively targeting the identification and elimination of modern slavery and human trafficking.

Our focus in 2017 was to undertake a risk assessment of our supply chain to identify areas where this is a high risk of modern slavery and human trafficking.  We undertook a review of all UK suppliers to ensure compliance with modern slavery regulations.  In 2018/2019 we will continue to explore the SEDEX system to see whether it can give a deeper insight into any potential modern slavery / human trafficking risk within our supply chain and enable us to take appropriate steps to eliminate occurrence or risk of occurrence as necessary.
